5 Exciting Features
At Visiolink, we think it is about time for an overhaul of the online newspaper. We have developed a new array of exciting features for our E-publish customers further improving the online reading experience. In this article we will be presenting 5 new features that we recommend to be implemented by newspapers.Fullscreen
Allow your readers to focus on the newspaper by removing all functions and URL lines within the browser. Once a reader clicks ‘Read todays paper’ it opens in a new full-screen browser window as seen below.

Newspaper Section Display on Page 0
Provide your reader a section overview on page 0, immideately available upon opening of the newspaper. Many newspapers currently use an introductory text, which describes how to flip and search within the papers. By using the section overview instead the readers have an opportunity to decide where they want to start in the newspaper while being provided with a good overview of the newspaper content.

Demo Newspaper with ‘Call to Action’
Using a demo newspaper increases the likelyhood of keeping prospective readers in the sales funnel by providing them an actual sample of the newspaper followed by a link or graphic informing them of the need to purchase the edition if they want to read more. This graphic appears when the reader flips through more than 5 pages, zooms or searches the paper. The ‘Call to Action’ graphic can link to the payment interface or a login page.

Social Bookmarking
Add our social bookmarking component to your newspaper and provide the readers with an opportunity to share the newspaper and interesting articles with their friends via the social media. The majority of online users today boost an array of user accounts on social media sites where information, video, images and articles are shared daily. This allows for free viral marketing and expands exposure.

Interval Search
Optimize the search between newspapers across publication dates. Provide the readers an opportunity to search on words and numbers in the archive by specifying publication dates.
