How Do I make the Publication Interactive by Inserting Flash Objects?
- See video

Can I Insert Links and Video in the Publication?
Yes, you can insert all the links and video you want. Add media by clicking Edit and choosing the tab Media Manager.
- Watch video about how to use Media Manager

How Do I Insert Video?
Video needs to be made as a FLV file (Flash Video). You get the best result by producing it for progressive download which means the video can start playing before the entire movie has been downloaded.
Video is inserted by using the Media Manager.
Watch how to use Media Manager for inserting video, Flash, pictures and links on the How To videos.

Can I Get Statistics From my Publications?
Yes, you can see statistics from the tab Statistics.
Video on statistics will be available soon on Visiolinks youtube channel

Statistics - Why can the number of unique views be much lower than the number of page views?
Unique views count is based on IP addresses, and can therefore show large organizations as a single or few users, because many users share the same IP address. Moreover, the number of unique users will be much lower than page views because each display of a page is counted, and the same user can easily have scrolled past the same side several times. Especially front pages will be high in count because it is the natural starting point when a publication is opened.

Statistics - How to count video, Flash and hotspots?
Video Views and other Flash content are not counted in the statistics. Hotspots counts clicks on links, if the pages are equipped with links.

Statistics - How to use Google Analytics or other external statistical systems?
Google Analytics or other statistical systems can be used by inserting their tracking code in the Template - HTML - Official Source. This allows registration of statistical information on every opening of a publication. Contact Visiolink support if you want more advanced statistics - e.g. page views, Flash activities, etc.

Can I Add a Company Logo to my Publication?
Yes, you can add a logo to the template so the logo will appear on all publications which uses the specific template.
You add the logo on the tab Layout in the field File. The file format must be 34 pixels high and looks best with a transparent background.

I Have Changed the Logo, but the Old Logo is Still There
It typically takes 10-15 minutes until the changes goes through. Don't forget to clear the cache in your own browser.

Do I Need To Make New Settings Every Time I Publish a New Publication in E-pages?
No, you can create a template which you can use for all publications.
Watch our video about creating and using templates

Do I Need to Upload the Entire Publication if I Have Changes to a Single Page?
You can just upload the specific page you want to change.
This is done by clicking Edit on the publication -> go to the tab Upload and untick the mark Full PDF-file or zip.

Do I Need to make New Links on My Website when I Make an New Edition of My Publication?
If you sort you publications into folders, you can make a link to the specific folder. This link will always open the latest available publication from the folder.
The link must look like this:
http://www.e-pages.dk/MyCompany/folder/The folder ID

How Can I Sort the Publications Into Folders?
You can make new folders in the Catalogue Overview by right clicking on the folder My Catalogues and click Add folder.
Afterwards you can drag and drop the publications into the folders.

How Can Problems with Disappearing or Strange Looking Elements be Solved?
When elements disappear from the PDF after uploading to E-pages it may be because of the use of layers and layers with transparency in the PDF.

PDF versions later than 1.3 introduced the possibility to make transparency and more layers.
Unfortunately this can be interpreted differently on different PDF tools like rendering and rasterisation programs which is why printing houses prefer receiving the material in a single layer.

By using flattening you get only one layer, which is more easy to work with.

You can flatten the PDF in two ways:
1. Print to postscript and use Acrobat Distiller to make a PDF afterwards. The PDF version i not important - the postscript process will flatten the PDF.
2. If you will export from InDesign and use flattening you need to export it as a PDF 1.3. A version 1.4 or later versions will keep the layers.

It is a well known problem in the graphical industry to handle PDF files with layers and transparency which is why Adobe and others have written some recommendations about this subject.
